The Fun Part
The fun part about this course is . . . well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible!
You breathe underwater for the first time (something you’ll never forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. During the course, you’ll make at least five confined water dives where you’ll learn all about the scuba gear and how to handle it. You will also complete four open water dives on our reefs and wrecks, just a short boat ride away from our shop and under the supervision of our experienced PADI Instructors. We take small groups on our boat to ensure you never feel crowded.
The Scuba Gear You Use
In the PADI Open Water in St. Maarten, you learn to use basic scuba gear including a dive computer, and standard accessories. Our scuba gear is always new and well maintained. We are proud to say we keep very high standards with our rental gear.
The program takes a minimum of 3 days and you can do it all with us while on the island or start before you even leave home by taking the e-learning program.
We have flexible schedules to accommodate your personal preference, providing you make reservations ahead of time.
We provide all you need for this course, just bring a swimsuit and we’ll take care of the rest!
The Learning Materials You Need
PADI offers a variety of home-study materials for the Open Water Diver course. While eLearning is the most convenient option, you may also choose a book and DVD package or a multimedia DVD-ROM.
PADI’s Open Water Diver materials cover what you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. For each concept you’ll read a description and watch a video demonstration. Then you’ll jump in the pool (or pool-like environment) to practice these skills with us. Later, as a certified diver, you’ll use the course materials as a reference guide for future diving adventures and to review what you learned.
When taking the whole course on the island with us, we provide all learning material required for the courses.
